if you think a horrible, messy, messed up production process cannot still yield a good movie, you should go watch this movie, read the history, and dig up the infamous documentary about it.

there are few things I enjoy more than period piece horror films, and Pearl is a remarkably interesting one.

can't wait for the Weird Al movie? well, Tubi has the 1985 mockumentary The Compleat Al, which is (not surprisngly) hilarious.

critics dismissed it. audiences didn't show up. it vanished from movie talk for a few years, but it's been building a legit head of steam as a cult film. (coming soon to Overhated, I think.)
