This was both a frustrating and rewarding paleo reconstruction to do. Coat is a little fantastical, but this was more of an exercise than a dead serious illustration. Panthera palaeosinensis is a basal member of the Panthera genus.
Prints of my tribal neon big cats are available at https://t.co/yLe6YDudyX!
The series continues (Puma/Cougar); I can make 9 11x14 bag designs or 12 9x12 bag designs. Nothing is set in stone.
Another messenger bag flap idea. Feeling things out. This is the first maned lion I think I've drawn in five or six years...
I wish I could sleep half as peacefully as this palaeosinensis. Going to leave it as-is, kind of a refined doodle.
Finally finished my portrait of these two; I'm extremely pleased with how they came out because I finally have enough skill to paint them as I imagine them. Final version in case you overdose on grimdark.
I am caught up on 2D commissions; this is a great time for fast turnaround on icons or ghost portraits. I'll be adding sketches soon too.
Just a reminder that I have quite a few originals on sale or otherwise marked down on https://t.co/8sjiljESb3 !
