I've never seen it, but judging by the look, it can't be that great (and this is no prejudice, cuz I really enjoy 40's films and stuff like the Kirk Alyn Superman serial)
It doesn't seem like he even has the shield in that one ahah

@SupermanEnjoyer I like it both ways but personally I'm a sucker for their friendship-backstory.
The fact that they both felt so alone because of their alien perceiving of existence, and finally found someone who got it, but it all fell apart. It's such good drama.

@AndersonObasuyi @kirawontmiss You're talking about the current one written by Waid? If so I'm reading it too and it's SOOO GOOD!
Oh, also: Mark Waid also wrote what it's probably my favorite Superman story, which is "Birthright"
It's the definitive origin story for the character imo, I think you would dig it!
