@simon_p_barton @Silhouetters69 Happy Birthday @Silhouetters69!
@swilko5 @DarrellEpp @DallanB @ScottMWest @thinbloodeddino @matthwbox Was it on Sundays? I'd forgotten that, but yes you're right, it was HUGE in the UK. Everybody talks about Star Wars being the 1st big thing, but Apes was there first. I remember going to our local market and buying Apes plastic masks that fitted over your jaw like this...
Some @DavidBowie for the weekend. On the left, a piece I did way back in the 6th form, and on the right last night. I lost the likeness somewhere between the pencils & the inks, but hey ho, everybody should draw Bowie. #TheManWhoFellToEarth
Just your regular reminder that there was a blaxploitation Archie in the '70's. Can you dig it?
@pongosapien Well, Happy Birthday there you young whippersnapper!
@GoranGligovic Did you see the second lot I put up, Goran? I think Ian Miller's 'Green Dog Trumpet' would be right up your street. Surreal silent strips of toys & insects fighting in a post-apocalypse wasteland...
Ugly but beautiful.
@mccreaman I know I've gone on about this before, but as a kid, this scene from Tales Of The Zombie genuinely gave me nightmares for weeks. I hated Alcala, 'cos his work was terrifying. Now, of course I can see what a master he was, but wherever you are, Alfredo, thanks for the fear!😱
@kingofcities The interiors are great too. Done for the French market, so they're a bit more adult than other comics of the time ( Late '70's / early '80's ). I recommend them! Here's the back cover:
@deanetts I'd still've stung him on the price though, just as a matter of principle... 😉
@VanjaM19 @seanpphillips @ThatStevenGrant @DarkHorseComics It's in this, Vanja, you can probably get it on Amazon or ebay. The strip's only 8 pages long but, y'know, it's Sean ( and my story's alright😁). There's loads of other good stuff in there too.
