Merithra got an update to her model to add leaves, so looks like she's gonna be stuck with this model for the whole xpac :(

The Forsaken in themselves are a whole other interesting beast, but one that touches on a similar notes.

In the same way nelfs take all the elven tropes and spin them together into something new, Forsaken take the "mindless zombie" trope and totally subvert it.

I think it was @Levighast who mentioned this a bit back, but nelfs are one of the few races in WoW that feel like an actual society all on their own. There's no one-note stereotype of a night elf in the way a tauren or a gnome gets treated, just by nature of their diversity.

Random thought stream from discord, it's forever so funny how much BfA/SL managed to do just nothing interesting with night elves or forsaken, considering they're easily two of WoW's most unique and specifically Warcraft concepts.

They're *so* easy to do stuff with, but alas.

And the same applies with Deathwing. He didn't just die, he got *erased* from the timeline, from every plane of existence by the other Aspects and the Dragon Soul. He's gone and he's never coming back.

But he also irrevocably changed the world and the dragonflights.

BfA and SL obviously had a *lot* of issues, but the one thing I found compelling through both was the use of Arthas not as a character, but as a specter hanging over everything.

Over the course of alpha I've seen those same elements used with Neltharion and I like that so far.
