A group of children were playing near water when a beautiful horse trotted over. Excited, they attempted to ride the horse, but became stuck to its back.
The horse then submerged, taking the children with it into the deep.

The Wild Calf of the Highlands visited farms under the cover of night. Those who went outside to embrace her in the dark would be blessed with success. One night, a timid farmer took a candle with him to meet the calf and she disappeared forever. #folklorethursday

The Singing Bone
A boy is killed by his brother during a boar hunt and his body is thrown under a bridge.
One day, a shepherd spies a bone under the bridge and makes it into a flute. When he plays it, it sings of the brother's betrayal.

The toxic wolfsbane plant was mixed with bait and used to kill wolves in the past. This association with wolves carried on into the future. It was both ingested to treat lycanthropy (many people died) and planted to repel werewolves. #SuperstitionSat #ofdarkandmacabre

If a human sheds 7 tears into the sea, a selkie will appear before them.
Some tales state that a selkie may only assume a human form once every 7 years because their bodies house condemned souls.
Selkie unions often result in 7 children. #FolkloreThursday
