I remembered the biggest example of torturing character for the sake of it, Code Lyoko, the kids in that show live in hell, they are always getting choked and shocked and in some episodes, THEY FREAKING DIE, AND THEN THE BY THE NEXT EPISODE THEY ACT LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED!

Don't you love taking everything from a character, to make their trauma hit even harder, only to few issues later only have all that be left behind with a "i'm fine"?

Hey, people say i'm full of bad takes about the Sonic comics so what about i be a little positive?
My favorite has to be Mega Drive, simply by how the character show all those traits i love them for all the time and have interactions that always feel so right for my picky taste.

Do you think it's a downgrade when a very episodic series suddenly jumps into becoming serialized?

(Please, refrain yourself from just saying "it can work if done well", just use what you have seen before as base if it was a worthy change qualitywise.)
