Because of Scorn, I've been feeling in a H.R Giger mood.
There's something really horrific about a perfect blend of machine and flesh. Hard to put my finger on what horrifies me on a visceral level, but perhaps it's the sanctity of the body being overtaken for other purposes.
@McFaddenX365 Actually I'd like to show two newer pieces WIPs, a slightly touched up Avana piece. They're almost done, just gotta clean up a bit more.
Enjoy folks
So, this was a placeholder sky background I drew up in like 10 minutes for the "Fairy Hellpit" (as we nicknamed it), but it looks completely insane. This might actually be a fitting background for something else. Enjoy :D
@AnxNeckGames I got many ideas for it, it's more just about refining those ideas, cutting away the fat, making it alot more focused and cohesive, and then ramping up the emotional stakes and tying them deeply into the thematic ideas underlying it.
One day, Creator will be made.
@AnxNeckGames Yeah it's a good inspiration. The guy who made Swallow the Sea and Brutal Orchestra took massive inspiration from the sea.
I personally like to take inspiration more from Final Fantasy artwork and surrealist stuff.
Mostly because I want to be known as a great fantasy creator.
The smallest scale looks like he got hit with a noita spell.
But it's fun to do stuff like this. I should share more of these, as they're great inspiration fuel
Augustus Eyes
Occassionally I digitize random pieces of art to learn about the shading of said piece.
And I had to show this one because of the eyes. The eyes look genuinely pure aesthetic. It's the perfect reference for a specific Golden Flame Angel foe in the final level.
Avana Beam Glance Rough Concept WIP.
Due to changing how the Avana Beam will act,
she literally manifests multiple heads from her form to figure out the best angle to try and fire at you from. The final version of this pose will be more "Stylized and surreal" akin to this guy.
I actually want to use the "Memory" art as her own personal "interpretation" of her encounters.
For character building. When you see these arts, you get an idea of how she actually sees these enemies.
Contrasting that with the Elder's sharper recollections, what once was.
