My friend and I started watching Mai-Hime and this shit is so absolutely absurd, horny, and ridiculous... But I kind of dig it? Lmao! I'm just here to enjoy the ride and, from the first three episodes, this show is going to be a damn rollercoaster of unhinged craziness!

I love how I can go to my top two anime and see perfect examples of cherry blossom symbolism! Eupho uses them to symbolize Kumiko's fresh start while Aria uses them to represent the beauty of life's fleeting moments. These shows awaken the symbolism monster inside me!

Magical girl shows, or shows with magical girl influences, are lit! I don't understand why this genre is so overlooked but there are so many works within the genre that are so thematically amazing and engaging to the point where it makes me sad that people tend to dismiss it.

I sometimes think about the Aria the Natural episode where Akari and Alicia go down a different train track that doesn't lead to their planned destination yet they find a spot equally, if not more beautiful than where they initially wanted to go.

It just occurred to me last night that a lot of what I've been watching lately has something to do with idols and that totally wasn't intentional at all lmao

I'm still in the mood to watch some older anime so I'm starting Magical Angel Creamy Mami because it looks like it might be right up my alley! It's an 80s magical girl show and, as I've said before, I want to delve deeper into the genre so I'll try this show out!

Misa Hayase turned out to be my favorite character of the main three in Macross! I loved her personality, development, and she just deserves all of the happiness in the world! I could also emotionally resonate with her throughout a lot of the show, she's just too good!
