Hello #PortfolioDay, I'm Keith, a children's illustrator. I usually post spooky & fantasy stuff, but I'm also developing a non-fiction nature portfolio so I thought I'd show you some animals and birds this time.
@CW_Stagg @guernseystamps @autumnrosewell @EUROPAstamps It is indeed, Chris. There's a stamp for that too! Here's the original illustration for it.
This illustration for @guernseystamps shows the story of fisherman Jean Falla, who fell-foul of the local witches. One of six stamps commemorating Guernsey’s witchcraft folklore.
Here’s another illustration for @guernseystamps, commemorating Guernsey witches. Many old houses on the island feature a stone plinth or ‘witches seat’, said to provide a place of rest for passing witches, thus appeasing any ill intent!
I’ve illustrated a set of stamps for @guernseystamps commemorating the island’s long association with witchcraft and its abundant witchy folklore.
One of my favourite things about illustrating Dogs of the Deadlands by @anthony_mcgowan is that it has some really bad-ass wolves in it!

Here’s today’s illustration from Dogs of the Deadlands by @anthony_mcgowan. My natural urge is to be realistic and detailed so I’ve pushed myself towards a looser, more spontaneous way of drawing, which I hope captures the wildness of the book.

I’m sharing some of my illustrations for Dogs of the Deadlands by @anthony_mcgowan. The book tells the story of abandoned dogs struggling to survive in the wild, following the Chernobyl disaster in 1986. For Misha, hunting lessons start young!

Work in progress. Figuring out colour palette and light. I’m kind of digging the mossy Afro.
