Evangelion is distinctly recognizable at a glance in shape and tone in these image boards, with the most obvious change being to make them more colorful and thin down on the armor. It's neat to see how they've gotten less and less mechanical-looking as the years went on.

I feel like Yoshitaka Amano's artwork for the later games where he wasn't as involved can often feel very discordant (often in fascinating ways) with what you actually find in them but his Final Fantasy VIII pieces really do tap into its illusive lunar vibe.
