Among the cast members, we have Unshou Ishizuka for Guld, Rica Fukami for Myung, Takumi Yamazaki as Isamu, and Megumi Hayashibara for Lucy MacMillan. Many of them who would work on other Macross projects, but also on Cowboy Bebop.

One of the qualities of Macross Plus is how none of the three main characters is neglected. Each presents well written and charismatic personalities. Guld and Isamu obtain empathy and interest from audiences, whatever their personal flaws and turmoils.
