Some nice simple edits to go with it. Done using 'Adobe Photoshop Express' app (free)
It's that time of year again! Y9 artists created fine-liner drawings based on exploration of everyday objects and the work of Michael Craig Martin. This first digital experiment involves basic 'crazy' colour filling on photoshop. Watch this space for developments....
Lovely experimental piece by Oliver today! Inspired by a photoshoot with his brother Finlay wherein Oliver used face-paint to make gestural marks on his face suggestive of an expressionist painting. Well done!
When you spy Ross in Y7 on the yard sketching at lunch time and you pinch his sketchbook. Yes. YEAR. 7!!! Amazing promarker work on some highly sophisticated portraits. Definitely a GCSE art student of the future! #bagsyross #creativegenius #whatalegend
Bailey (Y9) hasn't been finding mixed media work all that easy (she prefers a cleaner/neater style) but you wouldn't know it looking at her work today! Lovely combination of tissue/dress patterns/graphite powder/graphite stick/charcoal/white emulsion/coffee/watered down Quink.
Amazing work Y9 who are learning about encaustic techniques and surface textures to produce stunning work for their natural forms project. Shannon has beautifully captured a mussel shell (with real one for scale) and Morgan has done some experiments in her sketchbook!
Some fantastic work from 11A. Exploring a wide range of materials and techniques to achieve sophisticated results...not forgetting the wide range of abilities and strengths in the group. The photos don't do the work justice! #gcseart #mixedmedia #figurative
Well done to Nathan (Y11) who joined Art GCSE VERY late in the course but has made rapid progress and is catching up fast! #thewestleighway #effortmatters #drawing #junkfood
Throwback to 'Westleigh Science and Art Day' last week. Science teacher Miss Lord but her Art A-level to good use while supporting Y7's in creating these detailed studies based on microscopic life such as brine shrimp. #boulbymine #boulbylaboratory #thewestleighway #year7
Throwback to 'Westleigh Science and Art Day' last week. My groups focused on 'Dark Matter' and used a combination of 'brusho' inks, masking fluid, bleach and coloured pencils to create these powerful pieces! #boulbymine #boulbylaboratory #thewestleighway #ks3art #year7
