Really nice to have met up with members of Plein Air North East at #Amble recently in what felt like ages. I painted this scene of a row of houses at Island View, using a limited colour palette.

I’d spotted this composition on a previous visit to #Alnmouth and knew I wanted to go back and capture it. A wonderful Summers day for such a scene near the Waterside cottages.

Here’s a piece painted in the bright sunshine near #EastBentonFarm. It was the cottages and farm buildings that caught my attention and the cool cast shadows and light.
Worked a bit larger with this one which is an 11” x 14”, oil on gesso board.

Finished this new still life 'White Pumpkin with Conkers' in the studio. Had started it last week and was able to carve out a bit of time during half term to complete.

In light of all that's happening, the Northumberland: Magic and Myth exhibition now runs until Sunday 22nd March.

Took some work to the framers today and was nearby the #DerwentResevoir so went to check it out. Managed two paintings though was much happier with this,the second one, and done in less time.Was forever getting midgies🦟off the surface though was very warm out😎

Last night's still life 'Apple with Conkers'. Have had a huge crop of apples from our tree this year and have been giving them away, apart from this one. Conkers are known as 'buckeyes' in Ohio, my wife's home state, which is also the official state tree.
