show, along with its characters and story, were set in stone by the original showrunner, who was replaced by Ben and Pat. Despite this, they were not allowed to make any major changes to the story or characters, meaning Ben couldn't make the third season of SatAM he wanted.
Ben Hurst had often said that had he been brought on first for Sonic Underground, he simply would've made it Sonic SatAM Season 3.
The show had actually been in development for quite some time before Ben and Pat were called in to be writers for the series. The premise of the-
series, a rarity as most of the character's ages are never specified.
Tails in the games would eventually be given a definitive age of 8 years old. This was odd in hindsight, as game Tails, despite being younger, had a Jimmy Neutron-like kid genius personality and was a more-
Hedgehog, though early bibles called him 5 1/2 years old and 4 3/4 years old.

However, it was later decided to revert him back into a walrus, and he appeared as such in the show proper.
and of course, many early names and designs. The characters initially retained their pilot designs, with Rotor even retaining his original name Boomer, and both Sally and Bunnie featured pre-pilot designs, which differed from their looks in the final pilot, although their-

This was fully intended to be the case for SatAM, with many early newspaper articles and the director involved with the pilot early on always thinking it was gonna be a full show.
However, plans would change by the end of Summer, as DiC also wanted to get the show aired-
