Game journalists constantly try to "stir the pot" over a few social media harpies creating fake outrage. These shots compare indoor & outdoor lighting. Meanwhile, in the same episode there are brightness variations depending on the environment of the scene.
Also, no sane person is going to disagree that this is a bad thing. It's just an easy way to draw attention to themselves and attempt to con people into donating to their own brand of trash, because it's always followed up by one of these promo posts.
Lacking belief in yourself is a powerful trap. It's only when you allow yourself to try that you are granted the opportunity to achieve something. While there are few guarantees, without the attempt, the only guarantee is loss.
Creators need to tell these nutjobs where to go. Don't cave in whenever someone claims they're upset about an innocuous aspect of your story that holds no bearing on their lives. These are sick people who enjoy making others bow to their whims.
There are a number of problems here, but it isn't with anime or the designs of fictional characters.
The whole purpose behind the "sanity" aspect was to demonstrate the sheer horror of these otherworldly abominations; that simply laying eyes upon them an ordinary person could be driven to madness. Anyone with a modicum of common sense realizes this.
Anime News Network has zero credibility & clearly projects their agenda onto Japanese media. They're unable to recognize that fiction and reality are separate entities and fail to see the entire world isn't interested in pandering to their sensibilities.
