he doesn't just ramble about friendship and teamwork cuz he's the good guy - it's cuz friendship saved him, and saving others is what heroes do!

honestly? fuck this idea that classic sonic just has to be this wacky bouncy mute cartoon character.

make him a super abrasive stubborn dickhead to friends and foes alike like the OVA/fleetway, but don't frame it as a good thing - frame it as a something he has to overcome.
