I love how Byeonduck gradually changes her drawing style. It becomes more and more three-dimensional together with how she adds more layers and depths to her characters and story. In chapter 55, the shadowing and glow make it seem as if the characters were real.
If Seungho went through with letting the nobles rape Nakyum, he would have lost him forever. It would confirm Nakyum's worst suspicions of him and he could never love him.
Even in his sleep, Seungho seeks Nakyum and his warmth, reacts to his voice, leans into his touch because it's Nakyum who gives him comfort, because it's Nakyum who Seungho wants so much. #PainteroftheNight
Seungho is sharing his deepest thoughts and feelings with Nakyum and that means so freaking much because he never ever does that! BECAUSE HE DOESN'T UNDERSTAND WHAT HE FEELS HE TELLS NAKYUM EVERYTHING HE FEELS! SH IS LITERALLY OPENING HIS HEART TO HIM HERE! #PainteroftheNight
The way Seungho has been living his life is his way of self-destructing himself in the slowest, most painful way possible. No wonder he has trouble to love others, when he can't even love himself. Nakyum is his cure and his hope, a ray of sunshine in the dark. #PainteroftheNight
Seungho, the noble lord, actually covered Nakyum with his robe so his little lover wouldn't get ill again, only for him to get the cold instead! That's how much NK means to him and while he might struggle to put it into words he reveals it with his action. #PainterOfTheNight
That moment when Nakyum reaches out and almost caresses Seungho - that's something he wants himself. No one orders him to and there is nothing sexual about it. He just wants to touch this man in front of him who is constantly on his mind. #PainteroftheNight
Despite SH's treatment, Nakyum still reciprocates his kisses even before the alcohol takes effect. And not only that, he can't help himself but to reach out to SH, not to push him away, but to hold onto him. Because the nobleman isn’t the only one whose actions belie his words.
