I’m throwing in the towel on this one tonight. I bit off a little more than I could chew and got frustrated fast.
Falling Stars. 2002. Oil pastel and charcoal on paper. 16"x20".
This is another piece I want to do an updated version of. More celestial, more Art Deco meets Gustave Dore. Probably monochrome, sepia.
When I get asked in person, "Oh, you're an illustrator. What kind of work do you do?"
It's always tough to answer. I like doing lots of different stuff. From genres to mediums. I like that I have a spacious field to play in and not a narrow alley. I feel very lucky for that.
Works from over the years.
1. The Moon and June. 2007. Oil, pencil, charcoal on paper.
2. The Anatomy Lesson. 2016. Pencil, ink on tea-stained paper.
3. Mona Cthulhu. 2021. Pencil on tea-stained paper.
4. The Stage. 2003. Oil, pencil, pastel on paper.
