Elephants are an important contributor to the health of Tsavo National Park & the survival of its other wild inhabitants. Find out why they matter so much: https://t.co/LXIKfHSVWu
At our Ithumba Reintegration Unit, the younger bulls love to hero worship older visiting wild males. Thankfully these wise old boys can be incredibly patient with them, communicating with the little ones and teaching them key survival and social skills.
The SWT/KWS Vet Units had their work cut out for them when they helped 4 snared #giraffes in 2 days! Thankfully these beautiful animals were spared further suffering as vets removed the deadly traps & gave them a clean bill of health. More vet stories at: https://t.co/249lTrKO47
Have you met Moja? He’s the first calf of Sala, an orphaned Kudu we rescued and hand-raised. Having remained in the protected vicinity of our Field HQ since she gave birth to magical Moja, we’ve been lucky to watch this little family grow and thrive
We make the same promise to every orphan #elephant we rescue: To nurture and care for them as long as they need us & watch over them when they return to the wild. Help us fulfill this pledge: https://t.co/U4CJDshcLl
Our Mobile North Team & SWT helicopter located a giraffe with a cable snare around its neck - attached to a massive branch it had broken away from the poacher's trap. Today we fly in a KWS Vet to treat the giraffe & remove the snare, before many hands helped him back to his feet.
Walk with elephants! Each of these baby #elephants has lost their families but you can help support their care. Meet the herd and learn more: https://t.co/2AIu1Bjokn
As African elephants 🐘 face a precipitous decline, we are resolved to ensure humans can be neighbours & save those remaining individuals who desperately need a helping hand. Find out how: https://t.co/JCEPTMxbb8
#Elephants might naturally have naturally grey-coloured skin but the orphans love to cover their skin in mud as protection against the sun – making them a distinct red colour! #BehindTheScenes
Sometimes getting to the best greens requires a little bit of ingenuity, as Musiara finds out. We rescued this little orphan from the Masai Mara in 2017 – read his story: https://t.co/CwAPMdKAYL
