The biomorphic and gestural lyricism of Carmen Herrera’s early works can be seen in the ‘Habana Series’ (1950-51), painted during a holiday visit to Herrera’s native Cuba. ‘Carmen Herrera in Paris: 1949 – 1953’, at Dickinson NY, features three works from the series. Come visit!
