Happy birthday to Édouard Manet, pioneer of modernist painting and pivotal figure in the transition from Realism to Impressionism.
Gifted by Manet to fellow artist Jean-Baptiste-Antoine Guillemet, ‘Les Huitres’ was sold by Dickinson to a private collector.

Don't miss 'Gauguin Portraits', the first-ever exhibition focused on the portraits of Paul Gauguin
@NationalGallery. The artist used portraiture to express his own internal qualities; this holds true especially in the late portraits realised in Tahiti and the Marquesas Islands.
Arrivederci Firenze! Thank you to the Florence Biennale for a memorable event, to Fracassi Trasporti for stand installation, and our lovely visitors at BIAF2019! Fun was had by all with sight seeing, benefit evenings, a visit from the Mayor, to engagements & sales!

In our 26 year history, we have worked closely with museums to facilitate exhibition loans, including that of Picasso’s ‘Tête’ (1926) to ‘Picasso: Tableaux Magiques’ at @MuseePicasso. Our @emmakward & curator, Marilyn McCully were in attendance at today’s opening.

Today we wish a very happy birthday to the landscape painter and one of the founding members of the Royal Academy, Francesco Zuccarelli. Zuccarelli was celebrated for his charming pastoral scenes, and had a high society clientele to match, with clients including King George III.
Less than 20 works by the mysterious Spanish painter Bartolomé Bermejo are known to exist. Seven are on view at the @NationalGallery in ‘Bartolomé Bermejo: Master of the Spanish Renaissance’, six of which have never been shown in the UK. Until 29 Sept. #summerexhibition #bermejo
