Riku's weapons and how they reflect his character arc, a thread:
In KH 1, his initial weapon isn't even a Keyblade, despite having the ability.
His weapon is the Soul Eater, a dark blade shairng visual traits with Kain Highwind, Nomura's inspiration for Riku
@qwertyMrJINX @tacticalfiend I think my favorite thing about Nomura’s skill as an artist is that he has a lot of range in how he draws characters, even with ones he’s already drawn,
@tacticalfiend People that say Amano is a bad designer are full of absolute fucking shit, just look at these motherfuckers.
And Nomura was really cool that he basically changed nothing about their designs for Dissidia.
It's cool to see her along with Biggs and Wedge fully realized like this beyond her original concept art and the model used for one cutscene
@weeabob I love how well realized and gross looking Jenova is here because It's wo basic here
There is a lot of skill that comes from an artist being able to do both really detailed and really cartoonish characters
Zemus and Zeromus are literally just some evil space wizard and his angry ghost but fuck if Amano's drawings of him aren't cool as shit
@vicloveshimbos The best part though is that the lead artist on those games, Toru Nakayama, does a ton of Toku fanart along with other stuff.
My introduction to Dom Deluise was actually a children's book he wrote called Charlie the Caterpillar
Also man that design is adorabld
