@Ahkahna @origamiPete @Vert_Anatomist The elaborate fenestrations you would see in other ceratopsian frills form in the region just above where these big neck muscles would insert. Tsuihiji's 2010 study also shows some examples for these (Protoceratops in the 1st pic, Chasmosaurus in the 2nd):
@origamiPete Illustration from Hatcher's monograph, diagram from Tsuihiji 2010, and a screengrab of my own model to demonstrate. These show somewhat shorter-frilled individuals, so things would look less extreme in longer-frilled examoples, but in all, the neck meat would be pretty thick!
My various drawings of Samus and "friends" from the last few weeks. I'm riding that Metroid Dread hype wave all the way into October!
Allow me to hop on to this art train!
Artists, qrt with your art and let your followers say what aspect they would want to steal from it. https://t.co/ScOzbfuCUe
I've been informed that it's #SciArtPortfolioWeek! Here's a selection of my dinosaur anatomy illustrations. Apologies for doubling up on the T. rex!😆

The art and character design by Josh Burcham in the new IDW Beast Wars series is so appealing to me. It's a big stylistic swing that I really appreciate. Would love to see more like it!
