@Akilvers I don't own the book you have, but I think it depends of the illustrations, he seems to use both? The picture with Ash, Misty and Brock here definitively is done with copics (it's obvious on Ash's pants imo), but the illustration with the Pokémons seems to be ink and watercolors!
