Two species of Paramachaerodus are recognised in the fauna. In this study, Paramachaerodus schlosseri(Fig.1&3a-f) is now proposed as the new type species of this genus. And based on the new materials,new species Par.yingliangi was erected as well.
As is mentioned, sedimentology hints the Lanzhou basin of late Miocene were lushly forested. And both Y. yongdengensis(Fig.1) and faie(Fig.2) were probably forest dwellers that preferred small to medium game.
