This is what 'The Bride' looks like rn. Should I add embroidery, or do you think that would be too distracting?

My first attempt at a gouache painting. You may recognize this as based on my digital painting of 'The Bride' which is a sort of vampiric critter from Palestine who feeds exclusively on cishet men.

Hm. I tried a little fresh paint from my artist quality paints and did another pass over the face.

I'm not sure if the effect is having more fresh paint on the palette, the difference between student and artist grade paint, or both.

My gouache sketches for the day. I think I will leave the grey smudge on the second one as a reminder not to block in my darks too early and too heavily; it makes it really hard to cover up without mixing w/ the layers underneath.

The Bride is a being from Palestinian folklore, a sort of siren/vampire. She lures cishet men and drains their energy. In one tale, a woodcutter was wasting away until a woman followed him into the woods and discovered The Bride feeding on him. #FairyTaleTuesday
