Finally, Little Planet returns after a year on Sonic 4, this time Eggman doesn't chain it to Never Lake, but directly builds a Death Egg around it, thus having in all in one a time machine and a mass destruction weapon. (6/6)
So the doubt comes, why not take the gems directly instead of the whole planet?
One reason would be that Time Stones only work on Little Planet, so Eggman needs to chain the whole planet and make it into a huge time machine. (3/6)
@Instrutilus What's more, the fact that the Sonicin Sonic2 GG Silver is significantly lower than the Sonic2 MD Mecha, these things together make me really think that it's happening before the MD version

Blast showed the concept of the breakable emeralds, then reused in Adventure and Battle.
Sonic 3D shows how important the flicky is, where they're texture elements for Amy and Gamma stories in Adventure.
Did you know?
In the Sonic CD's japanese manual, it says that Rosy the Rascal is actually Amy's nickname, and the latter is indeed her real name.
