This fish, Palaeoniscum, is a foot-long freshwater predator. It went extinct ~252 million years ago at the end of the Permian period.

I know this is a fish oriented twitter account, but my mom loves the local birds but sometimes gets them a little mixed up with eachother- I'm creating a chart with the common waterbirds so she can know all their names!
