here's an assortment of shells and teeth found around my house, recreated in the glorious art program that is none other than MS Paint, which is an okay art program actually
I couldn't whip up another sketch for #FossilFishWeek, so here's some oldies- Aestuarichthys fulcratus, Xenacanthus, Sundayichthys, and Limnomis, all made in MS Paint around a year ago.
Time to take part in #FossilFishWeek- fashionably late, of course!
Diplomystus dentatus, a predatory clupeomorph fish known from Eocene deposits. Fossils occasionally show this fish with large prey protruding from it's mouth, presumably choking to death and becoming fossilized.
Thaumatichthys for a fashionably late #SundayFishSketch! This thing is just the best- it feeds on sea cucumbers and rotting seaweed and floats around pointing vertically, pointing straight down towards the seafloor. It's my favorite deep-sea fish, and I just love how weird it is!
@denis__draws i will now use this opportunity to post more, without shame!! (ur art absolutely rocks too btw)
...maybe i should share my art on twitter on a regular basis instead of keeping it private. maybe
for #SundayFishSketch ....
A freshwater fish! I don't draw those often!
Wilommkthys, from the Carboniferous period, is dead. that's all i have to say about it, really
it is a funny-looking fish, though
WIP paroon shark for #SundayFishSketch- despite the name, paroon sharks are not sharks at all, and instead very sizable catfish. I can say that it does somewhat resemble a certain filterfeeder...
Will be done by next Sunday- stay tuned.
One of the many #pridefishes for #SundayFishSketch! I chose the Irian red rainbowfish. I haven't drawn any pride month art myself (until now), and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to finally get a piece out there.
Here's my tongue-in-cheek pun for #SundayFishSketch- A genus fusion between Tyrannosaurus and Tyrannophryne. Tyrant lizard meets tyrant seadevil!
I was very eager to share this. I wanted to post it on Saturday... (It's 12:16 right now, so technically it's now Sunday! Woo!)
