I think they should've brought back Amano as the main character designer for XVI if they wanted to have a visually interesting game while still being focused a darker medieval setting. I say that because FFII is exactly like that, but the characters all look like this instead

I'm glad about FFXVI's high-fantasy setting, but they still can do way better than that. Remember IX's weird animal people, or I's big sky castle full of robots, or VI's phantom train, or THE FREAKING MOON in IV. XVI gotta have something like that, y'know
