Issue 9 - “Krypton Lives”
@XavierFiles I’ve definitely seen worse. I was just reading the first New Mutants story and I feel like McLeod drew people awkwardly, especially Xi’an. Like what was up with that haircut?
Baldus’ Xi’an looks better to me, even if inconsistent throughout the issue.
They did #TheJungleBook, they did #TheLionKing. #BrotherBear should be Disney’s next Live Action / CGI remake.
In retrospect, I like how X-Men: Disassembled kinda cleared the deck for Rosenberg to tell his “last X-Men story” with a smaller cast that still represented various eras in the comics. Plus Salvador Larroca is another legendary X-Men artist, it was good to see him return.
Despite their dysfunction, this team pulls off some impressive heroics. I liked Greg Land’s art and Rosenberg is great at taking broken characters and giving them something to fight for. (Also, who knew Warpath can fly???)
Ok so I just finished Rosenberg’s Astonishing X-Men. Firstly, I did not realize it was essentially a lead up to his Uncanny run. Secondly, now that I’ve read it all and can take it all in... I kind of like it.
Potential #XSpoilers
Humberto Ramos has come a long way. I did not really like his early Spider-Man art, it was too exaggerated for my tastes, but he’s gotten much better over the years and it’s grown on me a whole lot.
I really hate this. Whose idea was it to make Apocalypse the champion of sexual liberation? To turn the X-Men into pseudo-religious puritans?
Sometimes Lex Luthor steals 40 cakes. Sometimes he straight up murders people. Sometimes he creates a creepy Lois Lane robot to be his companion. All versions of his villainy are valid.
