So i find this part deep and fascinating because Dazai is showing admiration/sadness for Verlaine since he can understand his feeling of loneliness as well as he knows that Chuuya has this soothing power to make someone feel alive and human and why Verlaine needed him➡️

So there was this tension yet understanding between Verlaine and Dazai since their mutual interest was Chuuya,but Verlaine wanted to take him away because he thought Chuuya was like him and would soothe his pain,while Dazai knew he was human and wanted to protect him➡️

Dazai felt some pattern between him and Verlaine as well since they both hated this world and their meaningless life but Verlaine was still trying to find a reason to live and it was to take Chuuya with him,and Dazai understood since Chuuya was also his reason to live➡️

So i think that the fact Dazai was always thinking about way to annoy Chuuya day and night while he was so deep into darkness in Storm Bringer announcing the future Dark Era was his way to still feel human and alive and never lose sight of the light,Chuuya was his anchor
