ECMWF has been pretty consistent in showing a major monsoon surge next week.

Dewpoints over 70 degrees extending as far as Las Vegas! If it does verify, the air in the desert will feel like the tropics.
Likely some serious Monsoon storms and heavy downpours as well. #azwx #nvwx

The 8-14 day precip outlook is very welcoming for the Las vegas area. right in the bullseye!!

After tomorrow, the monsoon will be a bit weaker thru the weekend.

But starting next week, could be a MAJOR surge of moisture, and lots of rain across the region.

Hurricane #Darby has intensified dramatically over the past few hours, and a recent Microwave pass reveals an extremely thick core.
Satellite imagery shows that the eye is warming and clearing out, surrounded by a very symmetrical CDO and Buzzsaw structure.

Hurricane #Darby appears to be rapidly intensifying tonight, and has formed itself into a nearly perfect Buzzsaw shape.
