@tomnash03 @rPrequelMemes The republic does actually have early Tie Fighters! The Jedi Starfighter is the evolution point to the tie fighters, all designed around Vaders personal craft. Both utilize the Twin Ion Engines meaning Jedi Starfighters are basically already "Tie fighters"!

I think im due for a re-read of my all-time favorite Marvel comic run.
Also 'comic accuracey' is such a fraught term to begin with, the first Iron Man suit was arguably the most comic accurate thing we had seen on screen up to that point, it was even designed by the guy who had designed the most recent comic book costume
