During the 60's and 70's Dillon began experimenting with a variety of media and materials culminating in his exploration of collage as a form. His late works deal with the theme of the artist as clown or pierrot.

Anne Yeats was a daughter of the poet William Butler Yeats and a niece of the painter Jack B. Yeats. Yeats had a touching naive expressionist style and was interested in representing domestic humanity.
