Reginald Rose, writer of Twilight Zone's "The Incredible World of Horace Ford", gained fame for scripting "12 Angry Men", a live teleplay starring Bob Cummings (who went on to star in TZ's "King Nine Will Not Return") & later filmed as a movie with Henry Fonda.

January 24, 1963: Twilight Zone's "He's Alive" airs. A neo-Nazi leader gets expert coaching from a shadowy figure with a familiar German accent.

Serling considered releasing an extended cut of "He's Alive" as a theatrical movie before using a shorter version as a TZ.

The name of the episode, btw, was based on Luigi Pirandello's 1921 play "Six Characters in Search of an Author."
