#TDiPH 9 years ago today, June 24, 2011, Cars 2 was released. The around-the-world racing / spy film was directed by John Lasseter, produced by Denise Ream and had a score from the amazing Michael Giacchino.

#TDiPH 8 years ago today, June 22, 2012, Brave was released. With a story from Brenda Chapman, and directed by Chapman along with Mark Andrews, it was the #1 animated film of 2012 and took home the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film.

#TDiPH 8 years ago today, June 24, 2011, Cars 2 was released. I fully enjoyed the spy themed movie, and especially loved the opening scene. The film was released with the short film Hawaiian Vacation, the first of the Toy Story Toons series.

#TDiPH 7 years ago today, June 24, 2011, Cars 2 sped into theaters. While the film didn't click with critics it still did well, bringing in well over half a billion dollars worldwide. I thoroughly enjoyed it and think the opening oil rig scene is one of Pixar's best.
