Honestly, the most beautifully crafted “character” design in Destroy All Monsters. I didn’t mind spending majority of the film with it, the design is awe inspiring. Let’s wish it a happy 54th!

Super Atragon would also end up getting its own video game along with its own manga series going more in-depth with their continuation of the OVA.

After Atragon, the Gotengo would go through multiple incarnations featuring different designs and names. It is a debate if the Gohten and Ra are indeed incarnations of the Gotengo but due to the Godzilla museum and Eiji Tsuburaya museum saying that they are I will do the same.

The Gotengo influencing these works would end up being a huge deal. Tsuburaya himself considered Mighty Jack his masterpiece with the logo of the ship now being the official logo of Tsuburaya. Anno and Higuchi are also huge fans with Hideaki Anno even naming his cat Mighty Jack.

Just wanna say: I recommend Godzilla fans who have only seen films with the said character to watch Toho’s science fiction films. They are usually only marketed as not alongside but in the Godzilla franchise. If you have any questions on why or films I recommend please ask. 👍
