I am rescanning some oldies from "Spiderwick's Field Guide" which will be on exhibit (along with several other images from The Spiderwick Chronicles) this fall at the @delartmuseum . Details are here: https://t.co/rDaUbOYXlE #spiderwickchronicles #spiderwick #fantasyart
A fresh batch of signed prints is now available at @NKGames They even ship worldwide.👍Order here: https://t.co/QfyaOP2W8B #MagicTheGathering #DnD #dndart #fantasyart
The illustrations in the #WondLa books are a combination of pen drawing (on vellum) and digital coloring. From there, we'd create 2 printing plates for the printer, which was tricky. The duotone process was inspired by the early editions of "The Wonderful Wizard of OZ" from 1900.
From the archive: We redesigned the WondLa cover art when book 1 went into paperback. The feedback from sales was that the original image wasn't edgy enough and the light dust jacket was prone to scuffing. A bummer--though I was excited Suzanne Collins was willing to blurb it.👍
More colorized art from The WondLa trilogy. These were created for the Japanese editions. I'd love to fully colorize all three books someday...
I've been gathering developmental sketches and process work for an upcoming @imaginefx article and came across these early art samples for "The Search for WondLa" from 2009. Some of these made into the final book, others did not. I'll share some more design work this week.🎨
