Like, there's tons of Classic art with the lighter hue, just as there's Classic art with the darker hue. Having a preference is fine, but it's hardly 'wrong' to go for the lighter shade...
Admittedly I'm not even as militantly against the assbrow as I used to be, I think it's fine when it's being used to push expressions
it's just a holdover from similar cartoonists like Susumu Matsushita
Compared to my first attempt (left), I do think it does a better job keeping what made the S3 sprite unique, while polishing it up a bit. Happy with it, anyway!
