KiSS dolls don't work on modern Macs, so I don't get to play with these like I'd like to, but this was a fantastic format for deep dive fans, because someone would make a doll like this Rogue and load it up with every bit of clothing she wore from twenty years of comics.
I love stories which recontextualize previous stories, especially problematic aspects of the earlier. Gail Simone & Co don't get the credit for twisting the knot of Gen¹³ as strongly & smartly as Batman Year 1 or Avengers Forever. Like five times, minimum, this run makes me cry.
I love this cat and he is 100% the person who, transforming into a giant feline would at least try out a catbox, like maybe that's who he is now only one way to find out.
Anyhow every time the right-wing says a school installed catboxes for trans kids I think of that.
A straight walking tour of Final Crisis is so often requested, but what surprised me, is how quickly Grant Morrison & JG Jones' comic answers all of its narrative questions, and that's what might confuse people most.

Mary Marvel, with a "leering old man" steering her into fakey bad girl behavior & boring kink fits, is such a satire in Final Crisis. She's contrasted with a Supergirl who has her shit together, her apartment in order, her hobbies organized, her cat fed.

The important thing is that we're scaring Conservatives.
Tomorrow! Patricia Highsmash! Reading Final Crisis for all the possibilities! Gematria! Myth! Acronyms! Grant Morrison fans we're getting pretentious!
Odds are, I'll never get that @jodipicoult interview, so finally committing to my piece on her Wonder Woman arc with a side dish of commentary on the underrated (in comics circles) The Tenth Circle.
The opening story in this is called Food Fight. Both of these titles lack so much gravitas I feel like either Chris Claremont was too powerful to be questioned or he had no power and they made him take it.
This piece got me so harassed I went from feeling fair about it to loving it. Talia al Ghul is an amazing, fun, dramatic character, racism & xenophobia intrinsic to her background & she has always been a literal war criminal and general bad person. Always.
