It's #oc_tober time again! Day 3 involves a character that is most likely to slip up secrets
Out of all my characters (the ones I still use, anyway), I think Josie fits the bill as social skills don't come quite as naturally to her as they do for most of my other OCs
It's been five years since I first started drawing these characters, so I thought I'd do something to mark the occasion
Not sure if #NobodysArtistClub, #under1kgang and #under500gang are still a thing, but if they are then here we are! I draw witches and occasionally other things
The best thing about being a witch is that you can do just about anything
11) Yes, I'm doing this again! Some of the extra characters that appear in this panel (from Penny's intro comic) are from my original "school for witches" concept I mentioned in point 4. At some point I do want to develop Penny's old school and classmates, maybe in a flashback.
8.) The surname Gwracham is a portmanteau of Gwrach (Welsh for witch) and ham (Saxon for settlement). My explanaition for this is that their ancestors were drafted to Wales and named their community after the term locals used to describe them.
6.) I chose to add two kid characters to the series, one who was sceptical of witchcraft and one who was so excited at the thought of witchcraft that they questioned nothing. Cyril was more arrogant at first, but became meeker and humbler to contrast better with Penny's persona.
4.) when conceptualising Toil and Trouble, an early idea I had revolved around a school for witches, where Penny was the main character. I quickly changed this idea since I was struggling to make it unique, but I kept the idea of a school for witches as part of Penny's backstory.
