I never talked about YU-NO.
It's a great story.
I think it's one of the most important games in the medium.
You simply wouldn't see works like Clannad, Steins; Gate, and Little Busters without this work.
YU-NO is the blueprint for how visual novels would be moving forward.
I really love stories with themes of being able to move forward from trauma/hardship.
One's where the characters learn to accept their flaws and carve out their own path in life regardless of the terrible things they experienced.
It's a really optimistic and beautiful theme.
I think it says a lot that people still recommend this series as vehemently as they do despite all these red flags.
It's a great series that rewards patient readers that can stick with it.
One of the most meticulously crafted worlds I've ever seen in a work of fiction.
The visual novels I've played with the most intoxicating atmosphere are as followed:
> Kanon
> YU-NO
> Saya no Uta
> Hashihime of the Old Book Town
> Summer Pockets
These games really envelop the reader within their own little worlds.
Truly great works of art.
