A good time for an 'August' picture & what could be more appropriate than WBG's 'August in Orkney' 1987, a reminder that this week the LAST CHANCE to see , 'Inspirational Journeys', until Sat 20/8. Also on is Laura Drever's fabulous show 'Teebro'. Not to missed!!

It's always exciting to be working on a new (2023) exhibition project, specially when there will be the chance to show works that have rarely been seen, such as this 1947 WBG which has had major conservation and hasn't been seen for decades. Look out for more details soon!

Over a period of 20 years, created her series of small energy drawings of undulating and swirling lines. Here's an untitled one from towards the end of the series in 1995 (BGT19).

One of our favourite WBGs in has to be 's Rocks, St Mary's, Scilly Isles. Painted in 1953, the work reflects the abstractions of landforms seen in her Glacier paintings of the same period.

Towards the end of her life, when screenprinting became one of the focusses of WBG's artistic output, Porthmeor continues to resonate in the Water Dance (Porthmeor) series. This one is No. 4 in the series, printed in 2003. 7/7
