Where have you been exploring this weekend?
This landscape by #MeindertHobbema, dated
1663 - 1665, shows the artist’s delight in creating woodland vistas.
Even with the threat of an impending storm, the vision of nature is one of cheerful domesticity.

We all love The Souvenir.
Look close and see how concentrated she is, the way her foot pushes against the bark, the engraved signature - all proofs of Fragonard's talent, now obscured by layers of yellowed varnish, visible in the clouds.

The enchanting Souvenir (c. 1775-80) is one of two paintings to be restored in 2019 by Nicole Ryder for #FixingFrago.
The yellowed varnish will be removed to reveal Fragonard’s original colours and the split in the panel assessed to safeguard this masterpiece.
