@SirDemiface IDK if it's related, but SEGA giving Hotsuma a long, red flowing scarf in PS2 Shinobi seemed kind of influenced by Spawn. The whole design just kind of has that vibe, without actually copying the artstyle. The Japanese don't seem to look down on it.
