I've recently been focused on making spot-illustrations similar to the characters you see in #dnd5e books (mostly for subclasses), with simple backgrounds that are versatile for slotting into layouts.
Really pleased with how they've turned out so far! The TTRPG Portfolio grows.
After that I pulled together some reference for fabrics and dancers poses to put together a few more refined sketches, solidifying the details before any painting happened.
I knew there were going to be a lot of cool/brown tones, so I laid down a green undertone to peek through!
After sending over a sketch that I was happy with, the client asked that the character be flipped so that certain smaller trinkets/details would be positioned differently.
This affected the composition, so the pose was tweaked slightly to have less horizontal momentum.
I came late to the #StudyBuddies stream today and wasn't super happy with the result, so this afternoon I put an extra 40 minutes or so into it (just over an hour total). Much more pleased now! :D
