@sommecourt @OldFrontLinePod Fantastic episode, always Paul! It's a fantastic podcast and space to learn more about WW1 every time an episode comes out. The artists/artworks you cover today are huge inspirations to me, though I'm not as good. It's important to remember WW1 & the dead, wherever we are in time
@sommecourt @OldFrontLinePod It's a life that is just so unimaginable, I struggle to get my head round it, especially living there in the winter. So I paint to try to understand and to see it.
Found some of my old collages. Made using images from NASA Apollo and Hubble Telescope books and pulp fiction artwork postcards, of which I waited over a month to receive from New Zealand, just so I could cut them up by hand and create these ✨✨✨✨
‘Remnant of Mankind’ is a painting of mine which just an idea exploring that in the far future, all that will be left of us is our machines we’ve sent away into the cosmos. Voyager 1, the abandoned mars rovers, still there, Sputnik with Laika still on board.
Haven’t been able to stop thinking about this film. An absolute masterpiece on all fronts. I think it shows how little, but also how much has changed since the 14th century. Just be warned it is very bleak and violent, but it’s important. Masterpiece!!!
