For December's #objectofthemonth we are sharing this image of ‘Vine’ wallpaper design in green, beige and red, featuring grape bunches on a background of willow leaves with stylised scrolling branches. It was created during Morris’ busy wallpaper production phase in 1871-1876.

OTD in 1833 Edward Burne Jones was born. He & Morris met as undergraduates at Oxford and became lifelong friends. This Burne Jones window design for All Saints Church, Cambridge shows St Radagunda & was one of Morris, Marshall, Faulkner & Co's first commissions for stained glass.
Pimpernel wallpaper, designed by William Morris in 1876 and featuring blowsy tulips and the tiny pimpernel flowers which give the design its name. It covered the walls of the Morris family dining room at Kelmscott House, Hammersmith, as seen in this 1896 photo.

Inspired by medieval gardens, Trellis was Morris's first design for wallpaper and features birds drawn by his friend and colleague Philip Webb.
